The Linwood Springs Research Station s a raptor
research station located in central Wisconsin.
Each summer research is
conducted on the nesting ecology of the Red-shouldered Hawk and
Sharp-shinned Hawk to determine reproductive performance,
reoccupancy, natal dispersal and nest site fidelity.
Each
fall Northern Saw-whet Owls are captured and banded to gain
information about their migration routes, molt patterns,
mortality, and winter and summer ranges.
Over 11,000
Saw-whets have been banded since netting operations began
in the fall of 1988.
